About Spellkit
Spellkit is a free suite of 77 online tools — image, PDF, video and audio converters, calculators, generators, and text utilities, all in one place. There is no sign-up, no software to install, and no upload step for most tasks: you open a tool, it runs, and you get your result. It exists because the usual way to handle these small jobs online means wading through ad-choked pages that quietly send your files to a server you know nothing about — Spellkit does the opposite.
Everything runs in your browser
Almost every tool works entirely on your device, using modern browser technology like WebAssembly, the Canvas API, and the File API to do the real work — resizing images, compressing PDFs, transcoding audio — with no round trip to a server. That makes them fast, because there is no upload or processing queue to wait on, and they are ready the moment the page loads. A handful of tools genuinely need the network and say so plainly: the short-URL maker stores links on a server, and the meeting-point finder loads a map. Everything else runs locally, with nothing to install and no account to create.
Private by design
Because those tools run on your device, the files you open — photos, ID scans, financial PDFs, home videos — are never uploaded, because there is no server to upload them to. What happens on your device stays there, and closing the tab is effectively the same as deleting your work. This is the opposite of most “free online converter” sites, which route your file through a remote server to process it. The few Spellkit tools that do use the network are labelled, and even then only the minimum leaves your browser. The Privacy Policy spells out every third-party service involved. Private by design →
Free, supported by ads
Every tool is free, with no feature locks, no watermarks, no daily limits, and no “pro” tier holding the useful options hostage. Hosting, domains, and bandwidth still cost money, so the site runs a small number of ads to cover that — placed around the page rather than wedged into the tool you came to use. There is no plan to paywall anything: the goal is that the tool you need is one click away and fully working, whether it is your first visit or your five-hundredth.
Who builds Spellkit
Spellkit is designed, built, and maintained by an independent software developer — not a company built around sign-ups or reselling your data. The aim is simple: quick, trustworthy tools that each do one job well, as an alternative to the bloated, ad-heavy, privacy-hostile options that dominate this space. New tools ship regularly, every one documented with a short how-to guide and answers to the questions people actually ask — and when a result looks wrong, it gets fixed.
Questions, bug reports, or ideas for a new tool? Email [email protected] — feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next, and most workable suggestions turn into a new tool or a fix.
